The Cow Creek Foundation

Like many Native American cultures, the Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians has a time-honored tradition of giving back to the communities in which they live and work. In 1997, the Tribe formalized this tradition of philanthropy by establishing the Cow Creek Foundation to make and distribute grants.

The mission of the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation is to offer assistance in youth education, to strengthen the home and family, to provide positive youth development, and to add to the quality of life for people in the community. The Foundation awards up to $15,000 per grant and prefers to make small grants that will make a real impact on the project or for the sponsoring program.

Each year, the Cow Creek Umpqua Indian Foundation awards nearly one million dollars in grants to community non-profit organizations in Douglas, Coos, Lane, Deschutes, Klamath, Jackson and Josephine Counties.
