Boosters Recommended; Public Health Restarts Mobile Site
Another COVID-19 variant is circulating in the U.S., so Cow Creek Public Health is responding by renewing efforts to administer vaccines and booster doses to anyone eligible.
In late March, the Centers for Disease Control recommended a second COVID-19 booster (fourth dose) for certain groups of adults.
It is recommended that the following groups receive an additional booster (fourth dose):
- Adults over the age of 50 and who received their initial booster four or more months ago
- Immunocompromised individuals who received their initial booster four of more months ago
This recommendation covers anyone who received an mRNA (Moderna, Pfizer) vaccine and booster, or Johnson & Johnson vaccine and booster.
If you’re uncertain whether you should receive a booster dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, contact your primary care provider.
Beginning the week of Monday, April 5, Cow Creek Public Health is offering two ways for members of the community to receive a booster (third or fourth doses) or their primary vaccine series against COVID-19 (first and second doses).
For established patients of Cow Creek Health & Wellness Center who would like to receive their vaccine in a clinic setting, schedule an appointment at either the North Clinic (Roseburg) or South Clinic (Canyonville) on Fridays only, 8AM-5PM. Please call (541) 672-8533 to make an appointment (press #3 for the Roseburg clinic, press #4 for the Canyonville clinic).
For all others, including the general public, Cow Creek Public Health will resume operation of the Mobile Vaccine Drive-Thru site at 2360 NE Stephens Street in Roseburg (across the street from the Cow Creek Tribal Government Offices). No appointment is necessary to receive a vaccine or booster at this location.
The Mobile Vaccine Drive-Thru Site is open Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 10AM-1PM, and 2-5PM (closed 1-2PM).
Pfizer and Moderna (adults 18+), Pfizer (ages 12-17), as well as pediatric Pfizer (ages 5-11) doses are available. Flu vaccines are also available.
Please bring photo identification and CDC-issued vaccine card for updating. Please plan for a wait time after vaccination up to 30 minutes. All individuals receiving their second booster (fourth dose) will be required to sign a consent form. All individuals ages 5-14 must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign a consent form.
Cow Creek Public Health will provide a COVID-19 wellness package for each individual who gets vaccinated at the Mobile Vaccine Drive-Thru Site to thank the recipient for doing their part to keep the community safe.
